    Hey all, I've been exploring a new, fully customizable zombie server modification over this weekend. This new mod allows us to create custom zombie classes, skins etc. and pretty much have complete control over the how the game is setup. We can also implement "boss" zombie classes that will only appear once the human team wins a certain amount of rounds in a row, etc. for a bigger challenge. The difficulty also increases as the human team wins rounds. Pretty cool. Many other features... too many to list here.     In short, I'm exploring whether this will be a viable option for :{EoC}:, and so far I love it. It breaks out of the same old, same old with Zombie Horde, and allows us much more flexibility in making the server a custom :{EoC}: zombie killing game! :D More to come.

    Did you have any thoughts on what you didn't like about the mod Mav? I'm lovin what it can offer from what I see.

    Yeah, the details to really focus on is the description and the fact that we can custom make zombie classes and other things. One thing this doesn't have over Zombie Horde is powerups, so that could be a pro/con for someone.

    yeah that's one of things I didn't like. I'd say what else, but I'm letting the creative juices flow with the story idea, I don't really wanna lose it and get into something else haha. I will comment after tho. I just got loads of ideas I'm trying to organize right now. ;)

    @Mav Yeah, I understand that! @Scope, lack of powerups does sucks, but they should be releasing soon a whole menu system to go along with this mod that will include weapons upgrade, medic stuff, and even player classes to be unlocked by certain achievements and give the player enhanced abilities.

    That would be sick, have the unused flash bang or something be a medic pack and the ability to use it on others or yourself. I'd LIKE that stuff. Left 4 Dead style, I can't wait to get that game, when they stop pissing around and delaying it. Then again I'd rather they perfect it then release it early with bugs.

    Exactly. That would enhance the game a lot. But we'll see. Maybe I can rig up my machine while at home so you guys can connect and try it out.

    or the knife is a like a health syringe or something, you get close and "attack" a team mate and it injects some hp into them, limited use, like only 2 times. That'd be nice, since there's no use for the knife anyways.

    Crazy idea. Maybe that Adrenaline Add-On I mentioned earlier can stand in the place of the powerups? <a href="http://addons.eventscripts.com/addons/view/adrenaline">Adrenaline Mod</a>

    Also found a weapons and equipment purchasing mod that allows players to buy anywhere on the map, even trade in weapons for discount, health packs etc. <a href="http://addons.eventscripts.com/addons/view/weapontrade">Weapons Trade Mod</a>

    The weapon idea I like. I was wondering tho, will the integration of any of these mods effect rank or reset it. That would suck. I kinda like my rank, it shows how far you've come. I'd hate to lose it. :\

    Oh yeah, I forgot to update everyone on that. I have the rank system running through Mani-Admin, not Zombie Horde, so ranks will not be affected at all by any of these changes. w00 :D

    Right, the rank is independent of whatever game we're playing on the server. It just tracks kills and the other stats. So we're good there. I REALLY didn't want to reset ranks either. Besides losing it, it would kinda screw up everything in the clan since some are playing to get recruited and all that.

    yeah exactly, we'd have the actual members when they aren't on, like near last place or something in a matter of hours.

    Progress has been going smoothly so far on the new mod. New "black market" weapons buy menu is just about configured properly and working great. Adrenaline script is awesome, that works really well in place of the powerups. Though the berserk will be missed. hahahaha Maybe I can find something similar, or program it into the adrenaline script. Lots of new zombie skins and classes. I've just been playing it quite a bit over the past few days and love it.

    Some items of note:
    - I'll be increasing slots on the server to allow <strong>20 zombies</strong>. This will keep it challenging. I even managed to win a round here and there by myself against the 20, so it won't be impossible.
    - When will we take it live? Hopefully soon, but I have to keep configuring and testing it to make sure it's foolproof. Once it's live, more testing will be done to make sure all is working. w0000

    Progress Update: everything is just about setup where I'd like it to be, at least until we give it a few trial runs and tweak it to everyone's liking.

    Next Steps:
    1. Write up massive MOTD rules/how-to etc. guide
    2. Upload to server and try it out!

    Wow.....I just noticed, noone has posted in the forums for a while...even Mav, who i thought would be posting in here about his stories and what-not, hasn't posted in a while....whats up with that?

    ive actually played this mod before i discovered dan ^.^ the zombie spawns grow bigger and bigger and after we beat 6 rounds a boss zombie crab would be the next and it has 1000 hp and theres only 1 then we sstart over after the humans kill it its fun ^^

    hahaha I'll have to look into this crab model. I don't have it in the mod right now. I've never played Zombie Hell, but I don't think this one is like it, or maybe it has similar characteristics. This one is really open to however we want to set it up.

    I gotta say i hate the crabs. This is my first post on your boards ill keep it short and sweet. Check out my server as a few of you allready have its at "69.76.189.200:27017" . I am sry about the long download times, I dont have fast http downloads. I host my server on a server2k3 box in my home. It's not a www.gameserver.com or anything thats why the downloads are slow. But im running mods I think Dax would like to try, as they are tons better than Horde, and mine is tweaked out with 10 different zombie class/models some have special attacks like slap/poison/infect/burn its a progression mod gets harder the more ct's win after 3 wins special zombies start spawning. With each ct win there are also 3-5 extra respawns of zombies added depending on map.

    Just an update, my server now has 19 zombie models/classes in any give round there are 13-16 different zombie models on the loose, including a crawling one its creepy. You ever find out if linux is the issue?

    Nope, sure haven't man. I haven't had much time to test it out though. Maybe I just ditch Gameservers.com and host it myself? Lol I don't think I have enough upload bandwidth though. :D

    Yeah, Im going to have to agree with Little. You're server is already the shit DAX, and why i play alot is because it is really the only zombie server i have been to that is different...which is good. But, if you feel a need to change it, go right on ahead, but i like it how it is

    Am i wrong or are you running horde mod1.1? Arent they all the same since its limited on the ability to customize things? Basically every ZombieHorde server runs same exact models same power ups same everything just different maps, ands you can tweak there hp and speed? And Zombie Horde is a dead mod meaning no more new versions as valve does updates it may break again! I seen it in the past.

    Yep, that it is, but it seems people like how I have it setup. I'll keep working on the new one locally, but I don't know if I'll ever get it up on the server. We'll see! :)

    I spoke with Sven your problem is Linux, his stuff has never been tested on linux server so guess thats what the issue is
    I bet the people who host you could move your server to a windows server free of charge just tell them the mods your wanting to run wont run on linux
